After seven years in Hawaii, Mr. Joshua McCroskey returned to his native Virginia in Spring of 2022 with his wife Johanna and their children Camilla and Louis. While in Hawaii, he served as the Middle and Upper School Principal at Trinity Christian School in Kailua, Oahu's only classical Christian school. While there, he also taught humanities, science, and mathematics. Before accepting the invitation to serve as the Head of School at Ad Fontes, Mr. McCroskey received extensive leadership development training for classical Christian schools through The Society for Classical Learning and the Association for Classical Christian Schools. Mrs. Janet Cooper leads the K-6th grade program. Prior to Ad Fontes, she was a teacher and principal at another start-up classical school. She began at AFA as a first-grade teacher for four years before becoming the Lower School Principal. Mrs. Cooper holds an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Oxford College at Emory University and a bachelor's degree in Tutorial Studies (Philosophy) from the University of Chicago. She is married to Peter and has three children: Prentice, Emma and Ezra (all AFA graduates).
Mrs. Anne Simpson is a Level III certified Kodaly teacher, having completed her certification at the Chenaniah Summer Music Institute at New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho. She has spent the majority of her adult life teaching in a classical setting, combining her twin passions of music and literacy in an amazing and fulfilling career. As a young adult, she lived in Russia, and was privileged to gain experience and training with a classical Russian pianist during that time. Raised in a Christian home, she has pursued a relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from a young age. [...]
Mrs. Dee Dee Kintzing graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in Art Education. She has 30+ years of dynamic and creative teaching experience that includes 21 years of homeschooling her three children from pre-kindergarten through high school graduation, 3 years of teaching Art in a public high school setting, and 15 years of teaching Art and a variety of other subjects to a broad range of K-12 students in several homeschool co-ops. Dr. Timothy Prickett's academic degrees include a B.A. from John Brown University in Biblical Studies; a M.A. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Christian Formation and Discipleship; a Doctor of Ministry from Talbot School of Theology (BIOLA Univ.) in Leadership Development; and a Doctor of Education from Liberty University in Curriculum and Instruction. He has been a teacher at a Christian school in Victorville, CA for the last 18 years, also serving for 6 years as principal, as well as being a pastor. Mrs. Jamie Weaver-Denning graduated from Messiah College, with a B.A. degree in Family Studies. She received her M.Ed from Regent University. She taught seventh and eighth grades for three years in the public school system. Before teaching, she was a social worker for 10 years in Pennsylvania. She is married with three children, one at Ad Fontes. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is excited to share her love for learning and for the Lord with her students at AFA.
Mrs. Janeen Stepler graduated in 1995 from Cincinnati Christian University with a B.S. in Christian Education. She also has an Associates degree in Deaf Ministry. After graduation, she taught Kindergarten for three years at Manassas Christian School. In order to stay home with her own children, she has been a home care provider since 2003 for children from 6 weeks to 4 years old. She has also been a dedicated Sunday School teacher for twenty years and is a member of New Life Christian Church. She is married with three college aged children, one who is an AFA alumnus.
Mrs. Lucy Williams graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Education Degree. She also has a B.A. in the College of Communication from the University of Alabama. Her professional experience includes 12 years as an elementary public-school educator and five years as a Christian pre-school teacher in Atlanta, GA and Montgomery, AL. She has taught pre-school, Kindergarten, second, fourth, and sixth grades. She served as a Kindergarten Bible school teacher at her church for 16 years. She has one daughter, Catherine, who works in the Washington, D. C. area.
Mrs. Margaret Lee graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a B.S. degree in biological sciences. She received her state teaching certificate from California State University, Fullerton. She taught the second and fourth grades for four years in the public school system, and then became involved in classical Christian education after her children entered school. She served as an aide and then taught second grade at Trinity Classical Academy near Los Angeles. Her husband Owen is the senior pastor of Christ Central Presbyterian in Centreville, and they have three children.
