Mr. Joshua McCroskey

After seven years in Hawaii, Mr. Joshua McCroskey returned to his native Virginia in Spring of 2022 with his wife Johanna and their children Camilla and Louis. While in Hawaii, he served as the Middle and Upper School Principal at Trinity Christian School in Kailua, Oahu's only classical Christian school. While there, he also taught humanities, science, and mathematics. Mrs. Janet Cooper

Mrs. Janet Cooper leads the K-6th grade program. Prior to Ad Fontes, she was a teacher and principal at another start-up classical school. She began at AFA as a first-grade teacher for four years before becoming the Lower School Principal. Mrs. Cooper holds an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Oxford College at Emory University and a bachelor's degree in Tutorial Studies (Philosophy) from the University of Chicago. She is married to Peter and has three children: Prentice, Emma and Ezra (all AFA graduates).

Mrs. Rita Barillas

Mrs. Rita Barillas graduated from Liberty University with a B.S. in English and a minor in Biblical Studies. She began her teaching career in El Salvador where she taught various grade levels in missionary schools for seven years. She has been teaching for 22 years in Christian and classical schools in Georgia and Virginia as a main classroom teacher as well as teaching Spanish, Latin, music, and language arts. She is currently working on her master's degree in classical Christian studies at New St. Andrews College.

Mrs. Mimsie Houser

Mrs. Mimsie Houser graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and holds a Master's in Education and Post-Master's as an educational specialist from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is also a certified school psychologist. While studying at IUP, she taught undergraduate courses and worked at IUP's Student Support Center where she implemented accommodations for undergraduate students with special learning needs. Mrs. Dee Dee Kintzing graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in Art Education. She has 30+ years of dynamic and creative teaching experience that she brings to her position. Mrs. Kintzing spent 21 years homeschooling her three children from pre-kindergarten through high school graduation. Mrs. Anne Simpson is a Level III certified Kodaly teacher, having completed her certification at the Chenaniah Summer Music Institute at New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho. She has spent the majority of her adult life teaching in a classical setting, seamlessly merging her profound love for music and literacy into an amazing and fulfilling career. Mrs. Gina Wisor

Mrs. Gina Wisor is our K-6 P.E. teacher as well as a teacher's aide. She is working towards completing her Elementary Education degree. Before joining Ad Fontes, Mrs. Wisor homeschooled her two children through 3rd grade. She also served previously at another classical Christian school as a kindergarten teacher’s aide, the K-6 recess teacher, and an on-staff substitute teacher. Her children are current students at AFA. She enjoys physical activities, sports and being active outdoors. She and her husband also enjoy gardening and growing their own food.

Mrs. Janeen Stepler

Mrs. Janeen Stepler graduated in 1995 from Cincinnati Christian University with a B.S. in Christian Education. She also has an Associates degree in Deaf Ministry. After graduation, she taught Kindergarten for three years at Manassas Christian School. In order to stay home with her own children, she was a home care provider for many years for children from 6 weeks to 4 years old. A member of New Life Christian Church, she has enjoyed teaching Sunday School for most of her adult life. She is married with three adult children, one who is an AFA alumnus.

Mrs. Maryanna Kim graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Fine Arts and a minor in Architecture. She received an M.A. in Education from George Mason University with a teaching certificate in PK-6 and an endorsement in art. With eight years of public school experience, Mrs. Kim taught third grade, sixth grade, and elementary art. Her experience also includes being a children's ministry coordinator, Sunday School teacher, and youth leader. She continues to enjoy volunteering at her church for VBS and various events. Mrs. Lucy Williams

Mrs. Lucy Williams graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Education Degree. She also has a B.A. in the College of Communication from the University of Alabama. Her professional experience includes 12 years as an elementary public-school educator and five years as a Christian pre-school teacher in Atlanta, GA and Montgomery, AL. She has taught pre-school, Kindergarten, second, fourth, and sixth grades. She served as a Kindergarten Bible school teacher at her church for 16 years. She has one daughter, Catherine, who works in the Washington, D. C. area.
