Mr. Joshua McCroskey

After seven years in Hawaii, Mr. Joshua McCroskey returned to his native Virginia in Spring of 2022 with his wife Johanna and their children Camilla and Louis. While in Hawaii, he served as the Middle and Upper School Principal at Trinity Christian School in Kailua, Oahu's only classical Christian school. While there, he also taught humanities, science, and mathematics. Before accepting the invitation to serve as the Head of School at Ad Fontes, Mr. McCroskey received extensive leadership development training for classical Christian schools through The Society for Classical Learning and the Association for Classical Christian Schools. Mrs. Janet Cooper

Mrs. Janet Cooper leads the K-6th grade program. Prior to Ad Fontes, she was a teacher and principal at another start-up classical school. She began at AFA as a first-grade teacher for four years before becoming the Lower School Principal. Mrs. Cooper holds an associate degree in Liberal Arts from Oxford College at Emory University and a bachelor's degree in Tutorial Studies (Philosophy) from the University of Chicago. She is married to Peter and has three children: Prentice, Emma and Ezra (all AFA graduates).

Mr. Zachary Rallo

After having taught classically for six years (five of them at Ad Fontes) and worked with students as a youth minister for three years, Mr. Zachary Rallo is excited to be stepping into administration as Principal of the Upper School. He has taught Literature, Logic, Bible, and Rhetoric at Ad Fontes, delighting in watching students grow in their ability to write, think, and speak. He also coaches Ultimate Frisbee here at AFA. Mr. David Mathwin

Mr. Dave Mathwin has taught at Ad Fontes since 1998. He lives in Midland with his wife Linda and their three children, John, AJ, and Keris. In past years he taught a variety of subjects but now concentrates on teaching History at the Upper School. Mrs. Christina Jenkins

Mrs. Christina Jenkins graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in psychology. Her prior career experience involved human resource leadership and other business operations leadership. She brings her professional background to the Admissions Director role at AFA. Over the past 23 years, she taught Bible classes to children, teens, and women. Mrs. Jenkins homeschooled for five years using a classical curriculum, where she also tutored 4-6th graders. She is passionate about missions and has chaperoned an AFA Peru Mission Trip. She is married to Michael and has three children, including one alumnus and one Lower School student.

Mrs. Cindy Sweeney

Mrs. Cindy Sweeney worked in Fairfax County Public Schools for 25 years before retiring in 2014. She progressed in her career from a front office Administration Assistant to an Admin Assistant for the Athletic Department at Fairfax High School. She is a blessed mom of one daughter, and grandma to 3 beautiful grandchildren (Dominic, Olivia, and Grayson Reece who is an AFA Falcon). She lives in South Riding, attends Gateway Community Church, and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her grandkids, reading, going to the beach, and watercolor painting.

Mrs. Debra Davis

Mrs. Debra Davis serves as the AFA Administrative Director and previously served as the Upper School Office Manager. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Audiology at the University of Tulsa, a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Speech and Hearing Disorders at Phillips University and an Associates degree in Nursing at Cameron University. Mrs. Davis worked eight years as a registered nurse caring for premature infants. Ms. Elizabeth Phillips

Ms. Elizabeth Phillips is a graduate of Ad Fontes Academy and serves as the Upper School Office Manager. She enjoys seeing the students every day, assisting parents and teachers, and setting things in order. An avid cook, Ms. Phillips started Cooking Club during her senior year at Ad Fontes and has brought that club back to the Upper School. She spent five months in Guatemala with a missionary internship program, and loves going back to visit the ministries and people she served with.

Mrs. Julie Jeffrey

Mrs. Julie Jeffrey is the business manager at Ad Fontes Academy. Prior to her time at AFA, she worked for a government contractor in human resources and accounting. Julie holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento. Julie is married to Terry and has five children and five grandchildren.
