Mrs. Karen Dougherty

Mrs. Karen Dougherty is deeply honored to serve as Head of School at Ad Fontes Academy, a community she has cherished for many years. As the proud mother of a 2019 Ad Fontes Academy graduate, Mrs. Dougherty has experienced firsthand the lasting impact of a classical Christian education. Her love for the school and its mission led her to serve faithfully for three years on the Board of Trustees before being called to leadership as Head of School.

Mrs. Dougherty is a graduate of Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts/Theatre with a minor in Business Management. Her background in the arts, combined with her experience in leadership and organizational management, brings a unique perspective to her service to the Ad Fontes community.

For nearly three decades, Mrs. Dougherty and her family have been active members of Sterling Presbyterian Church, where their faith and commitment to Christ have remained central to their family life.

Mrs. Dougherty is passionate about cultivating a school community where truth is treasured, virtue is cultivated, beauty is celebrated, and students are equipped to pursue wisdom and live faithfully for Christ. She considers it a privilege to steward the mission of Ad Fontes Academy and to serve alongside its faculty, families, and students.
