Mrs. Karen Dougherty is the proud mom of a 2019 Ad Fontes Academy graduate. She loves the school so much, she spent 3 years serving as a member of the Board of Trustees and is honored now to serve as the Head of School. She is a graduate of Bethany College, Bethany, West Virginia where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts/Theatre with a minor in Business Management. Mr. Michael J. Muñiz is an experienced educator in his 20th year of service. Born and raised in Miami, FL, he recently moved from Dallas after serving for 5 years as an educator and administrator at a classical charter school. Mr. Muñiz is currently nearing the end of his pursuit of a PhD in Leadership Studies at Dallas Baptist University. Mr. Erik Landstrom

Mr. Landstrom is in his 14th year as a Classical educator, and his eighth (non-consecutive) year at Ad Fontes Academy. His passion for Classical education began during his time at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, where he discovered teaching as a vocation. After graduating in 2012, he started teaching K-6 music & drama at AFA, before transitioning to the 5th-grade classroom the following year. Mrs. Mimsie Houser

Mrs. Mimsie Houser graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and holds a Master's in Education and Post-Master's as an educational specialist from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is also a certified school psychologist. While studying at IUP, she taught undergraduate courses and worked at IUP's Student Support Center where she implemented accommodations for undergraduate students with special learning needs. Being the wife of an often on-the-move army dentist, she has worked in multiple diverse school settings as a teacher, tutor, and therapist for students of all ages. Mrs. Janet Cooper currently teaches Latin for 4th-6th grades and assists with administrative needs. She has served at Ad Fontes for 20 years as the first-grade teacher (4 years) and as Lower School Principal (15 years). She is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a BA in philosophy and has three grown children, all of whom are graduates of Ad Fontes.

Mrs. Dee Dee Kintzing graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in Art Education. She has 30+ years of dynamic and creative teaching experience that she brings to her position. Mrs. Kintzing spent 21 years homeschooling her three children from pre-kindergarten through high school graduation. Mrs. Anne Simpson is a Level III certified Kodaly teacher, having completed her certification at the Chenaniah Summer Music Institute at New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho. She has spent the majority of her adult life teaching in a classical setting, seamlessly merging her profound love for music and literacy into an amazing and fulfilling career. Mrs. Janeen Stepler graduated in 1995 from Cincinnati Christian University with a B.S. in Christian Education. She also has an Associates degree in Deaf Ministry. After graduation, she taught Kindergarten for three years at Manassas Christian School. In order to stay home with her own children, she was a home care provider for many years for children from 6 weeks to 4 years old. Mrs. Kristin McGinnis

Mrs. Kristin McGinnis holds an M.S. in Management from Minot State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from St. Olaf College. She developed a love for classical Christian education while homeschooling her four children for ten years, prior to joining the faculty at Ad Fontes Academy. Outside the classroom, she also teaches Suzuki violin and enjoys sharing her love of music with others. She and her husband enjoy the outdoors and take every opportunity to travel with their children.
