Dean of Grammar School, Third Grade

Administrative Staff | Lower Campus Faculty

Mr. Landstrom is in his 14th year as a Classical educator, and his eighth (non-consecutive) year at Ad Fontes Academy. His passion for Classical education began during his time at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, where he discovered teaching as a vocation. After graduating in 2012, he started teaching K-6 music & drama at AFA, before transitioning to the 5th-grade classroom the following year. In 2019, he discerned a calling to ministry in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, moving with his family to lead an Anglican parochial school in an underserved community just outside Philadelphia.
In the summer of 2024, Mr. Landstrom, along with his wife Lauren and children, returned to Northern Virginia to be closer to their extended family, just in time to welcome their fifth child. In addition to being Dean of Grammar School and the 3rd-Grade Teacher, Mr. Landstrom is also an AFA parent. For Mr. Landstrom, this return feels like a homecoming—one where the lines between vocation, family, and faith are beautifully intertwined, allowing him to continue his journey in the place where it all began.
